Man, this book was good. It gave me all the highs and lows of being a teenager with a hearty dash of ...err, how to put this without giving everything away? Let's just say that THINGS HAPPEN and leave it at that, shall we?THINGS HAPPEN! Sometimes those things are little things that get thrown out of proportion and sometimes they're terrible things that no one should have to deal with.
And sometimes they're the things that a boy and a girl trying to figure out how to start a relationship have to deal with as they struggle with finding themselves.
Seriously, there was a lot packed into this book. IT WAS GLORIOUS!
I am HIGHLY intrigued with the thought of what the next book will bring. Because a certain someone (who is not Luke or Evelyn) somehow wormed their way into my head and I REALLY want to see them find some happiness. Really. Like, super bad. Make it happen, Ms Michaels. PLEASE!

Feels Like Forever A Lot Like Love Book 1 eBook Katie Michaels Reviews
I’ll preface this with - I don’t like romances with people this young. I don’t like people this young. They think they know it all and I just don’t have it in me to give a you know what about them. So why did I read this - because I know someone who knows someone and the premise actually sounded promising.
High school is a terrible time and most of us won’t remember and will eventually move on, never to remember any of the things that will shape our future. There are some who love high school and who peak during that phase of their lives, everyone else knows that this too shall pass and their future awaits. Evelyn Sanders is a senior in high school and is looking forward to life after. But what she doesn’t know is that before the end of the school year there are actions and consequences that will forever change her and those around her.
Luke Rogers is a football player, kicker, that Evelyn is immediately captivated by. Not a fan of the game Evelyn is persuaded by one of her best friends, Shelly, to go and what a lovely surprise she finds in Luke. He’s good looking with the eye lashes/dimple combo that gets to Evelyn every time she sees him. After a conversation, these two exchange information and things start happening, quickly. Think high school quick.
Told primarily from Evelyn’s point of view there’s enough going on to keep the pages turning. Evelyn has her group of friends - Shelly, Merrin and Chloe - because how else can you survive high school without your posse, I know I had mine. For this group, the girls really had each others back. Evelyn had a special friendship with each of them but the one she sought advice from most was Shelly. So I looked at their friendship very differently than I saw the others. Shelly had a bravado about her that Evelyn admired tremendously. Maybe because Shelly’s one of those girls who enjoyed sex and wasn’t ashamed to admit it and I think this lended to Evelyn’s mindset that this made Shelly smarter that she actually was.
Evelyn and Luke had their own issues. In Evelyn’s not so distant past she was heavier by 30lbs and she’s working hard to keep if off. I wouldn’t recommend either losing or keeping it off the way that Evelyn did and I wanted this to be a much bigger thing that it actually was. I wanted to see more of the physical damage that she’s doing to herself but I know this is high school and this is never really a thought because when we’re young we’re all bulletproof.
Here’s the thing, I didn’t like Luke he’s weak. It’s not a physical weakness but he showed signs of a mental weakness that I’m not sure he can really come back from - I hope he does in the future because his rationale for why he chose his group of friends - Jeremy, Nick, and Marcus - is piss poor. Side rant Jeremy, you’re a douche and one day I hope you get yours.
The chemistry between Evelyn and Luke was quite good. There’s not too much sexing and when it did happen it was typical high school setting scenarios.
I wanted to love this because it’s my one shot at reading high school drama but as I’m crying in the corner with my thumb stuck in my mouth (you’ll see why), I turn the page only to find out I’d just read the last word and I was never so mad that not everyone got their just rewards. I’m looking at you Jeremy!
Happy reading folks!

When I finished this book, I did everything in my power to get to my laptop as quickly as I could so that I could write an amazing review. Now that I’m here writing, I have absolutely no idea what to write. The book has left me … speechless isn’t even the right word. I honestly don’t have a word that fits. All I know is that my emotions have been savaged. Obliterated. In the best way possible. I didn’t like being shredded that way, but the emotional grip, the inherent connection I had to the characters when tragedy struck, is testament to the author’s writing ability.
Luke and Evelyn are a young couple trying to balance school, friendship, and a new relationship and because of one friend’s jealousy (I honestly have no clue why Jeremy was such a jerk) they’re nearly ruined. I can’t place the full blame on Jeremy though, Luke has a temper from hell and he lashed out at Evelyn when he should have embraced her instead. I loved the way their relationship developed. It wasn’t an insta-love, but it was beautiful and I loved them together. I have to admit, I was rooting for Evelyn and Marcus (is that bad of me?) to be a couple. I could see them blossoming together because Marcus seemed more mature and level-headed.
I also have to point out that this book dealt with an eating disorder that I didn’t recognize at first. In the first couple of pages Evelyn thinks to herself “What did I weigh this morning?” and instead of recognizing it as a tell, I thought it was just teenage drama. I liked that the author shined light on such a serious situation because even the character didn’t realize it for what it was.
I know there’s a book 2, which is great because although this book ended without a cliffhanger I feel like there’s unanswered questions. What happened at the party? Where did Jeremy disappear to? What will happen to Marcus???
This was my first book from this author, but she has a fan for life. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and look forward to reading more from her.
**I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.**
